Notes: on the road大家一定不陌生，它常用的意义是“在旅途中”。此外，它还是美式英语，有“四处奔走”“在流浪”的意义。例如：

3. by any standard

以任何标准

We have had a very successful marriage. We’ve had a long marriage, by any standard.

Notes: by any standard的意义是“以任何标准”。例如：

This is not a nice apartment, by any standard.

Notes: bang up在口语中有“撞坏，损坏”的意义，或“（身体某部位）碰伤，弄伤”，例如：

I banged up my ankle when the bus suddenly stopped.

6. feel for somebody

同情某人

I feel for Prudie.

Notes: feel for有“同情，体谅”的意义。例如：

I really felt for her when her dog died.

7. hit it off (with somebody)

合得来

I really think the two of you will hit it off.

Notes: hit if off的意义是“投缘，合得来”。例如：
